Notes

Well, Rome is not all about the food, of course. There's also the Colosseum, Vatican City and the men! The Colosseum is a beauty. Palatine Museum which is situated next to the Colosseum boast the ruins of the Roman empire. I was amazed at how advanced they were during that time without computers etc. The Colosseum only took 8 years to build! Of course, they had 1000 slaves working on it but still! The guide told us that the reason why Rome only have one line of subway (it's true, taking the subway is so easy because they only have one line, back and forth) was because when they dug out new lines, they found something.

Vatican City was also amazing. The architecture and paintings were amazing. I wished I had re read Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown before my trip to Rome and Paris so that I can imagine myself being in Robert Langdon's place :P. Me and Trish, thinking we should save our money, opted to pay 2 Euros less and climbed the stairs to the dome of the St Peter's Basilica. We climbed 500+ stairs, steep ones that is and I did it in my flats! During our 1 week trip, we walked at least 1.5km a day and I walked in flats! By the final day, I traded my flats for my flip flops even though I vowed to be fashionable because the soles of my feet felt like there's a needle sticking there. At the end of the trip, my knee was a bit sore and may be a bit swollen. I'm alright now, thanks :P.
